• Their Deluxe and Complete nonprofit formation packages include a full year of registered agent service, and a federal tax ID number or EIN. Seeing as most companies end up needing these anyway, it’s convenient to take a one-stop shopping approach.

• CorpNet’s Basic package costs $128. When the industry standard is $99 ― and some companies like Northwest go even cheaper than that ― it could make you wonder why you’re spending the extra money on CorpNet.

Basic = $128 + State Fee

What It Includes: This package gets you the essentials of nonprofit formation, including a business name availability check, and the preparation and filing of your articles of incorporation. In addition, the Basic package includes the B.I.Z. Corporate Compliance Tool which provides document storage and deadline reminders, and a 60-day trial of registered agent service to receive and forward important documents.

Who It’s Right For: Entrepreneurs who simply need nonprofit formation without the bells and whistles should be pleased with what the Basic package has to offer.

Deluxe = $228 + State Fee

What It Includes: Everything from the Basic package, plus a full year of registered agent service, a federal tax ID number (EIN) which enables you to hire employees and open business bank accounts, and a hard copy of your formation documents. Also, the Deluxe package adds “24-hour document preparation,” which if anything just makes us wonder how long they take for Basic.

Who It’s Right For: Most businesses do need an EIN and registered agent service, so we like the Deluxe package for all but the smallest nonprofit operations.

Complete = $328 + State Fee

What It Includes: Everything from the Deluxe package, along with a custom nonprofit kit and seal to organize your company documents.

Who It’s Right For: Despite CorpNet’s assertion that this is the “Best Value,” you’re not saving any money over simply ordering the Deluxe package and adding the kit/seal for $100. Also, no one actually needs a kit and seal, so this package is not a strong value.

Recommended Package

In our opinion, the Deluxe package is a no-brainer. It’s a smartly bundled collection of features that most companies need.

CorpNet scores a 4.2/5 in our book. Their customer feedback is nearly flawless and their satisfaction guarantee is a nice added safety net. The only issue is that their prices are over 25% higher than most competitors.
