1. Pabio

Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Funding: Seed, $3.2 Million

Pabio is an interior design startup offering personalized interior design as well as high-quality furniture rental in Europe. Pabio prides itself on its asset-light, rent-to-own business model. Founders Carlo Badini and Anand Chowdhary say that qualified Pabio customers can get $20,000 of new furniture with $0 upfront or monthly payments over a period of up to four years.

2. Spacejoy

Location: Los Angeles, California
Funding: Seed, $5.5 Million

Spacejoy's mission is to build the future of home design by weaving interactive 3D technology and art to give homeowners a joyful experience in designing their homes. Users can set their preferences, including budget, room type, and current status. By uploading images of the room to the application, the company provides 3D visual designs to really give the user a fully immersive experience. 

3. Oliver Space

Location: San Francisco, California
Funding: Series B, $55.8 Million

Oliver Space is another California-based startup seeking to make interior design easier than ever. The company's mission is to have living spaces designed, furnished, and decorated for clients before they even move in, making the usually-stressful process of moving seamless and pleasurable. The company offers customers the options of paying upfront or in monthly installments (at zero interest) and a 7-day free return or exchange period. 

4. Next Events

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Funding: Seed, $491,900

Next Events is a B2B interior design startup focused on connecting service providers with clients in the hospitality industry. The company says that rather than simply being a database for contact details, it seeks to help establish long-lasting relationships between suppliers and clients in the interior design space.

5. Archslate

Location: San Francisco, California
Funding: Pre-Seed, $700,000 

Archslate is the first job marketplace specifically geared at the interior design and architecture industries. The company's platform brings together employers and candidates in an industry that is so often highly niched and difficult to recruit or get hired in.

6. Indema

Location: Ontario, California
Funding: Pre-Seed, $30,000

Indema is a B2B interior design startup that recognizes how many moving parts there are within an interior design or related industry business and seeks to streamline them to automate as much of a firm’s business and workflow as possible. While there are certainly other similar services available, Indema's specific focus on the interior design space makes them unique.

7. Livspace

Location: Bengaluru, India
Funding: Series F, $431.6 Million

Livspace is an Indian interior design startup that provides online in-home furniture and designs. Some of the features on the Livspace platform include enabling users to fill out forms, receive estimates, and book professionals for the design and installation services. Livspace users can also use the platform to book online consultation services and upload personalized designs to get accurate estimates.

8. Bonito Designs

Location: Bengaluru, India
Funding: Seed, $6.3 Million

Bonito Designs is an Indian startup that has focused specifically on its local market since that country saw a boom in people investing in their home lives in recent years. The company says that its mission is to provide designer home solutions to its customers which meet their preferences, requirements, and budgets. In the media, some of Bonito Designs' investors have revealed their reasons for investing in the startup, including their focus on design and their customer-centric approach. The company has also been touted to be the future "undisputed leader in the interior designing landscape of India."

9. Havenly

Location: Denver, Colorado
Funding: Venture - Series Unknown, $85.8 Million

Havenly is an interior design startup and recommendation engine with two facets to its model: paid design services for users and commercial partnerships with vendors. Havenly CEO Lee Mayer says, though, that their focus will always be on building relationships with individual designers so that the spaces they are designing feel more customized. Havenly's most recent round of funding for its platform will be used to create a private label of interior design merchandise called Cove Goods.
